It is about 2 children that are taken in by a widow during WWII. I enjoyed the story, especially the last 20 pages give or take.I felt ambivalent about purchasing this book. Not a bad film just a little hard to understand, maybe someone who smoke's a bag of refer might understand it better. 2 stars. But in spite of the novel being only a fragment and published against the author’s wishes, I loved it. The published edition of the novel is estimated to be about a third of what the ultimate length of the finished product would have been and was discovered on White's desk after his death. Intellectually I could engage with interest, but reading it simply as a novel I felt dissatisfied and frustrated by the fog of verbal texture that obscured the unfolding of the narrative.
