Then I would have my students take this book home or use this app and read the book to their parents. I was honestly surprised to find white people in the center of some of the pages since the idea for the song came from a moment between Ziggy and one of his kids, but I understand the desire to represent a variety of kids/families (though honestly it's basically one black family with one kid and one white family with two kids) -- though I was a little put off by the Christmas scene in one of the final pages (my family A warm and charming bedtime or anytime book - in our house it was enjoyed by my 4-yr old and 8-yr old as well as me.
It shows how much your parents love you and and there's even a little bit of a nature lesson in there. This one is definitely up there as a favorite.
